Janardûn Revised [Hex Map]

Here is complete rework of the map for Janardûn. For those familiar with the CC2 version of this map, there are immediate differences. The river systems have been completely reworked and the island-continent’s terrain has been diversified.

It took me a long time to finalize the names of icons for this map. Note that there aren’t any names for Janardûn’s terrain, yet. At most, I’ve added new names for the most important islands and island groups. The islands names Welinmar and Zaladmaraul are new additions to the world, as are a few of the Utaran Isles.

The capital city of the Republic is the great city known as Alarân. The Republic controls most of the central and western lands of Janardûn. The eastern lands are wilder and more independent. The mountain ranges are generally out of the Republic’s control; the ogre mages and their thralls control most of the mountain ranges, but their control isn’t absolute.

Dwarves refuse to surrender the mountains to the ogre mages. As well, there are still hidden bastions of the elves known as the Shoyir in several mountain ranges. The various forested, mountainous islands surrounding Janardûn are highly contested and violent skirmishes are commonplace. There are numerous islands without an urban presence. These islands are the demesne of barbarians, druids, rangers, and dangerous monsters.

The best example of this is the group of islands known as Pemimpain Islands, which are known in the Republic as the Dream Lands. The denizens of those islands are strange and even ogre mages rarely set foot on their shores. While the citizens of the Republic both fear and respect the power of the ogre mages, they simply fear the misty lands of the Pemimpians.

There will be much more to be said about this map at a later date. I have to yet the ideas simmer in my mind before writing them down.Janardun_hexmap_large

    1. Thanks for following. I haven’t posted as much as I did when I first created the blog. There’s been a cooling off period. I’m hoping to get a lot more content up this spring and into the summer.
